Otter Tail Lakes Country Fishing Report

We know we say this a lot, but only because it's 100% true. Otter Tail Lakes Country truly is a PANFISH PARADISE! Here is a report from Jesse Thalmann from Slab Seeker Fishing.

"Fishing has definitely been better than the weather as of late. We saw a cool down of surface temps of more than 10 degrees on some lakes this past week. We wont even mention the snow/sleet that fell for a little bit. This time of year you can expect a lot of transitioning.Crappies have pretty much finished up their spawn and will be migrating out to their normal summer patterns, don't get me wrong there are a few that are still in spawn mode as not all crappies spawn at the same time in any given lake, but for the most part they are wrapping up. Look to the first weed edge adjacent to where they were spawning as they will head there first before heading out to deeper water as water temps continue to warm. It is now time to for the Bluegills to do their spawning. As the water temps rebound from last week, look for gills to move into shallow water and continue to feed up until they spawn. They will start to spawn once temps get into the upper 60's and lower 70's. With temps rising in the long range forecast look for the fishing to continue to get better and better. Please remember to practice catch and release or selective harvest. Both can be critical this time of year and very important to the future of the fishery."
